This Legal Notice governs access to and use of the website micronanospain.org and the public digital services made available through it.

2. MicroNanoSpain
MicroNanoSpain is the Spanish Semiconductor Competence Centre, created to strengthen access to semiconductor and micro- and nanoelectronics capabilities, skills, training, technology transfer and ecosystem services.
AESEMI acts as coordinator of the MicroNanoSpain project and coordinates the operation and communication of the Centre together with the other members and partners of the MicroNanoSpain consortium.
3. Purpose of the Website
The Website provides information, tools and access points related to the activities of MicroNanoSpain, including, where available:
- access to semiconductor design, fabrication, characterisation and related technological capabilities;
- access to national and European semiconductor infrastructures, competence centres, pilot lines and design initiatives;
- training, education and skills-development opportunities;
- semiconductor employment and internship opportunities;
- events, networking and ecosystem-building activities;
- innovation, entrepreneurship, funding and technology-transfer initiatives;
- news, publications, reports and other information related to the semiconductor ecosystem.
4. Conditions of use
Access to the public areas of the Website is generally free of charge. Certain services may require registration, identification or acceptance of additional specific conditions.
Users agree to use the Website, its content and its services in accordance with applicable law, good faith and these conditions. In particular, users must not:
- use the Website for unlawful, fraudulent or abusive purposes;
- interfere with the security, availability or normal operation of the Website or associated systems;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, databases or restricted areas;
- introduce malware, malicious code or other harmful technology;
- use Website content in a way that infringes intellectual or industrial property rights, confidentiality obligations or third-party rights;
- submit information that is false, misleading, unlawful or infringes the rights of third parties.
Where a specific MicroNanoSpain service has its own terms, conditions or acceptable-use policy, those specific conditions will apply in addition to this Legal Notice.
5. Intellectual and industrial property
Unless otherwise indicated, the content of the Website, including texts, graphics, interfaces, photographs, videos, documents, databases, visual elements, software and design components, is owned by AESEMI, the relevant MicroNanoSpain consortium member, or the corresponding third-party rights holder.
The names, logos and visual identifiers of MicroNanoSpain, AESEMI, consortium members, partners and third parties are protected by the applicable intellectual and industrial property rules and may not be used in a manner that creates confusion, implies endorsement or infringes the rights of their respective owners.
Reproduction, distribution, public communication, transformation or commercial exploitation of protected content requires prior authorisation from the corresponding rights holder unless such use is expressly permitted by law or by a licence displayed together with the content.
Users may access, view, download or print Website content for legitimate personal, educational, research or professional reference purposes, provided that applicable rights, licences and source acknowledgements are respected.
6. Information provided by third parties
Certain information available through MicroNanoSpain may be supplied by universities, research organisations, companies, service providers, training institutions, employers or other ecosystem participants.
MicroNanoSpain seeks to maintain accurate and up-to-date information but cannot guarantee that all third-party information is complete, error-free or continuously updated. Users should verify information that is material to a technical, commercial, academic, employment or investment decision directly with the corresponding provider.
7. External links
The Website may provide links to websites, platforms and services operated by third parties. These links are provided for information and convenience and do not necessarily imply endorsement of all content, products or practices of the linked service.
MicroNanoSpain and AESEMI are not responsible for the availability, content, security or privacy practices of external websites. Users should review the legal and privacy information applicable to each third-party service.
8. Availability and liability
Reasonable measures are taken to maintain the security, availability and correct functioning of the Website. However, uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, AESEMI shall not be liable for interruptions, technical failures or damage resulting from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, or from the improper or unlawful use of the Website by users.
Nothing in this Legal Notice excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
9. European and national funding
The MicroNanoSpain project has received funding from the Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU) under Grant Agreement No. 101217813, with support from the European Union and national funding from the Spanish public authorities.
Views and opinions expressed are those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union, Chips JU or the national funding authorities. Neither the European Union nor the relevant granting authorities can be held responsible for them.
10. Applicable law and jurisdiction
This Legal Notice is governed by Spanish law and, where applicable, by European Union law.
Any dispute relating to the Website shall be submitted to the courts and tribunals that have jurisdiction under applicable law. Nothing in this clause limits any mandatory rights or jurisdiction rules applicable to consumers or other protected users.
Privacy Policy
MicroNanoSpain is committed to processing personal data lawfully, fairly, transparently and securely, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and applicable Spanish data protection law.

For personal data processed through the main MicroNanoSpain website and activities managed directly by the project coordinator, the data controller is:

Some MicroNanoSpain activities are carried out together with consortium members, infrastructure providers, universities, research centres or other participating organisations. Depending on the specific activity, those entities may act as independent controllers, joint controllers or processors.
Where this is relevant, specific privacy information will be provided at the point where personal data is collected.
2. Applicable data protection rules
Personal data is processed in accordance with, in particular:
- Regulation (EU) 2016/679 — General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR);
- Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December on Personal Data Protection and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD);
- Spanish Law 34/2002 of 11 July on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE), where applicable.
3. What personal data may we process?
The categories of personal data processed depend on your interaction with MicroNanoSpain and may include:
- Identification and contact data: name, surname, email address, telephone number and similar contact information;
- Professional and institutional information: employer or organisation, position, professional profile, area of expertise and sector;
- Account and platform information: information needed to create or manage an account or access a restricted MicroNanoSpain service;
- Service request information: technical needs, requested capabilities, project information and communications relating to a MicroNanoSpain service;
- Training and event information: registrations, attendance information, organisation and other information necessary to manage a course, event or activity;
- Job Board and ecosystem information: professional contact information supplied by organisations publishing opportunities or participating in ecosystem services;
- Communications: information included in messages, enquiries, feedback, questionnaires or requests sent to MicroNanoSpain;
- Technical and security information: IP address, browser and device information, system logs and security events;
- Cookie and analytics information: where the user has consented to the use of non-essential cookies or similar technologies.
4. Special categories of personal data
MicroNanoSpain does not seek to collect special categories of personal data unless they are genuinely necessary for a specific activity.
For example, information about allergies, dietary requirements or accessibility needs supplied in connection with an event may, depending on its content, reveal information relating to health. Where such information is required, it will be limited to what is necessary, access will be restricted and the appropriate legal basis under Article 9 GDPR will be applied, including explicit consent where required.

6. Newsletter and optional communications
Where you voluntarily subscribe to the MicroNanoSpain newsletter, your contact details will be used to send you information about relevant activities, services, events, opportunities and project developments.
You may withdraw your consent or unsubscribe at any time using the mechanism included in the communication or by contacting MicroNanoSpain.
Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.
7. Where does personal data come from?
Most personal data is obtained directly from you when you:
- submit a form;
- send us an email or other communication;
- register for an event or training activity;
- subscribe to a newsletter;
- create an account;
- request access to a service or capability;
- participate in a survey or project activity.
In certain professional or ecosystem activities, contact information may also be obtained from participating organisations, public professional sources or MicroNanoSpain consortium members. Where required by law, the affected person will receive the corresponding information about the processing.
8. Who may receive your data?
Personal data may be accessed or disclosed only where necessary for the relevant purpose. Categories of recipients may include:
- authorised AESEMI and MicroNanoSpain project personnel;
- consortium members involved in the service or activity requested by the user;
- technological, hosting, email, cloud, analytics, form, event-management or communication providers acting under the appropriate contractual safeguards;
- capability, training or service providers where disclosure is necessary to process the user's request;
- public authorities, auditors or funding bodies where disclosure is required by law, the Grant Agreement or applicable funding obligations.
Service providers processing personal data on behalf of the controller are subject to the requirements applicable to data processors under Article 28 GDPR.
9. International transfers
MicroNanoSpain seeks to use services that provide appropriate protection for personal data within the European Economic Area whenever reasonably possible.
Where the use of a technology provider involves a transfer of personal data outside the European Economic Area, the transfer will only take place where an appropriate legal mechanism is available, such as an adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses or another safeguard permitted by the GDPR.
10. How long do we keep personal data?
Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for any additional period required by law, contractual obligations, project reporting, audits or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
As a general principle:
- enquiries are retained for the time necessary to respond and appropriately close the matter;
- account data is retained while the relevant account or service relationship remains active, subject to the specific retention rules applicable to that platform;
- newsletter data is retained until consent is withdrawn or the user unsubscribes, without prejudice to keeping minimal suppression information where necessary;
- event and training information may be retained for the periods required for organisation, reporting, grant justification or audit purposes;
- sensitive information such as health-related accessibility or dietary requirements will not be retained longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected;
- cookie data is retained for the periods indicated in the Cookie Policy or cookie settings interface.
11. Security
Appropriate technical and organisational measures are applied according to the nature of the personal data, the purposes of processing and the risks involved.
These measures are designed to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access.
12. Your data protection rights
Subject to the conditions established by the GDPR, you may exercise the following rights:
- Access your personal data;
- Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Request erasure of your data;
- Request restriction of processing;
- Object to certain processing;
- request data portability where applicable;
- withdraw consent at any time where consent is the legal basis;
- exercise the rights applicable to automated individual decision-making where relevant.

Where there are reasonable doubts regarding the identity of the person making a request, proportionate additional information may be requested solely to verify identity.
13. Right to lodge a complaint
If you believe that the processing of your personal data does not comply with applicable data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency:

14. Automated decision-making
Personal data collected through the Website is not used to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects on users, unless a specific service expressly informs the user otherwise and provides the safeguards required by law.
Electronic Communications
MicroNanoSpain may send newsletters or other electronic communications to users who have requested them or have otherwise provided a valid legal basis for receiving them.
Promotional electronic communications will be clearly identifiable and will identify the organisation on whose behalf they are sent.
Users will be provided with a simple and free method to unsubscribe or object to promotional communications, both where legally required at the time their data is collected and in communications subsequently sent to them.

MicroNanoSpain Hub
MicroNanoSpain also operates a dedicated digital platform at hub.micronanospain.org .
The Hub supports access to MicroNanoSpain services and may require user registration. It is developed and maintained within the MicroNanoSpain consortium infrastructure.
Because the Hub includes account-based and platform-specific functionality, additional conditions and privacy information apply to its use.
Users of the Hub should also review its dedicated Legal and Acceptable Use Policy .
Where a Hub-specific notice provides more detailed information about a particular processing operation or functionality, that specific information will apply to that operation.

This Legal Notice, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy may be updated when MicroNanoSpain services, technologies, legal requirements or data-processing activities change.
